The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland (SDGI) is honored to present the FORAS NA GAEILGE AWARD to Irish director and producer Tom Collins in recognition for Outstanding Contribution in the Irish language in Film and TV. Love/Hate writer Stuart Carolan presented the award to Tom.

The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland, in association with the Directors Guild of America, announce that the winner of the Director’s Finders Series 2015 is Mark Noonan’s YOU’RE UGLY TOO.

 
Launch of the Wash Your Eyes-Season

 

The Wash Your Eyes 2015 Season is a director, writer and screenwriter forum that will focus on harnessing the success of Irish writers and screenwriters, and connecting them with directors with the hope of future collaborations.

 

This event aims to inspire conversations in a safe and intimate environment that cultivates important dialogues and enhances creative opportunities in the Irish Film Industry.

TV Drama Mentorship 2015

 

SDGI was running a one day mentorship programme for three directors on the fourth series of Vikings with one of four directors. Vikings is currently shooting in Ireland, written by Michael Hirst and starring Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick and Clive Standen. SDGI members were invited to observe Ciaran Donnelly and other directors in action as they work with cast and crew and shoot scenes on the set of Vikings.
