Finder Series Winner 2015
The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland, in association with the Directors Guild of America, announce that the winner of the Director’s Finders Series 2015 is Mark Noonan’s YOU’RE UGLY TOO.
YOU’RE UGLY TOO, is announced today as the winner of the Director’s Finders Series, providing this Irish director with the opportunity to showcase his feature film at the Directors Guild of America Theatre in LA on 21st August 2015. The filmmakers, and key industry personnel, with the aim of securing a US distribution deal for the film.
Selected by a panel of experts YOU’RE UGLY TOO had it’s world premiere at the 2015 Berlin International Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Debut Feature and has also been nominated by the European Film Academy for the 2015 Young Audience Award. It will also feature at the Galway & Edinburgh film festivals this summer prior to its Irish release on July 24th through Element Pictures Distribution.
Finder Series, conceived by the Directors Guild of America and facilitated by the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland, presents an Irish director with an opportunity to showcase their film and to have direct access to decision makers in the film distribution process in the US. The awards spotlight works of fiction, documentary or drama feature submissions from Irish directors who have not secured U.S. distribution of their films.
YOU’RE UGLY TOO is a Savage Productions production in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann/ The Irish Film Board. Writer-Director Noonan will fly out for the screening on August 21st and will engage in a week of meetings with Hollywood heavy weights to secure distribution for YOU’RE UGLY TOO and plan future projects.

Myself, the producers, and all the cast and crew are incredibly proud of the film, and the reaction we've received so far has surpassed even our wildest expectations. We hope this award helps the film receive as wide an audience as possible, and a Director's Guild of America screening in Los Angeles is an important first step on this road.”
Previous winners of the Director’s Finders Series have gone on to make a significant impact on the international film stage, with five previous winners, including Ian Power’s The Runaway and Tomm Moore’s The Secret of Kells, getting a US distribution deal and providing the director with an opportunity to develop key relationships with studios and distributors worldwide.
