Bio

 

Richard Keane is a writer and director in both animation and live-action. 

He has been working non-stop in the industry for over 12 years, in a variety of important roles on numerous prolific projects.  These range from commercials, short films, television shows and a feature film.

 

Clients have included Disney Junior, Nickelodeon, BBC and Amazon Studios

Richard is currently based at Brown Bag Films where he is currently an Episodic Director on Season 3 of Disney Junior’s number one show “Doc McStuffins”. 

 

He is also the Head of Cameras & Layout in the studio and has worked on many hit shows there including “Olivia”, Noddy in Toyland”, “The Octonauts” and “Henry Hugglemonster”

In 2012 Richard wrote, directed and edited the animated short film “Bird Food”. It was financed by the Irish Film Board under the ShortShorts scheme and produced at Brown Bag Films. It has been accepted into over 40 festivals so far. 

 

In 2014 he wrote and directed the live-action short film “The Grand Canal”. It was crowd funded and produced by Babyjane Productions. It is just finishing post-production before doing the festival circuit. 

 

Richard is currently developing several feature films that he hopes will get into production shortly.
