Bio

Jess Urda is a Spanish national living in Ireland since 2001. He holds a B.A in English Literature from Universidad Complutense Madrid, and later completed a M.A in Film at The Huston School of Cinema in NUIG . He completed his film education in Filmbase Ireland and C.E.V (Centre of Audiovisual Studies) in Madrid. Since 2005 he has made five short- films, three in Ireland, and his last two in Spain. He was also involved in Dublin: The Movie, a project curated by Lenny Abrahamson that put together short films and clips dealing with daily life in Dublin. It was shot and edited in 48h, and was as part of the Darklight film festival.He is also writing his PhD thesis on 1950s Spanish Cinema in TCD.

His latest short film El Patio de Peter Pan/Peter Pan’s Yard (2010) has just started distribution.
