

Bio
Gerry Nelson is one of Ireland’s leading documentary filmmakers. A total filmmaker, he is a writer, director and photographer – prior to directing had spent ten years working as a much regarded editor. His documentaries cover topics of historical, biographical, musical, political and social significance. He is adept in all styles of filmmaking, comfortably weaving archive, dramatic re-enactments and cinema vérité into his canon of work.
Gerry brings a reputation for creating imaginative and thoughtful work. His films have taken him to some of the worlds most far flung corners, Americas, Arabia, Africa, Asia, Siberia, Middle East, and Wexford.
