Bio

Educated at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, then a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (founding editor in 1978 of Piranha magazine, published for 36 years since), at Granada Television in Manchester Antony Sellers created the original trailer launch of Brideshead Revisited (1981) and received special presentation of his work by BAFTA and AMPAS in Los Angeles (1984). While Shaw’s Corner (1988) the acclaimed drama he directed for The Arts Channel broadcast in over 20 countries.

A graduate of the 1997 Moonstone International Filmmakers’ and Screenwriters’ Labs in Renvyle Ireland, Antony was nominated for the Sundance/NHK International Filmmakers Award 1999 with the film project Fairytale of New York.  He was Programme Director (1996-97) of Galway Film Fleadh (in what is now designated an UNESCO City of Film), while his film project Flatbread and Water was selected for the 2004 Moonstone International Screenwriters' Lab in Loire Valley France.

Antony's current projects (2015) are the feature film Food Chain (developed as Writer/Director with the support of the Irish Film Board), and the book The Gaze of Antonioni, which from original research he is writing on the great Italian filmmaker (recently publishing the paper, ‘The Crew’: Antonioni’s Australian film that was not to be (2015)).
